While Bahubali 2 is achieving one milestone after another, Dangal has got a new lease of life after being released in China 18 days ago. While the SS Rajamouli directorial has created a Rs 1,500-crore club, it is anticipated that Aamir Khan’s wrestling saga might take a lead in the global box office numbers.
While Bahubali 2 stands at Rs 1,538 crore, as per trade magazine boxofficeindia.com, Dangal is not far behind. By adding China collections, Dangal now stands with a total worldwide business of 1,470.66 crores. Both the projects have taken Indian cinema on global platforms with great elan.
On domestic grounds, both Dangal and Bahubali 2 are massive hits with records too tall to break. Bahubali 2, 23 days of its theatrical release, has minted Rs 1,256 crore approximately in its continuous run through the fourth week.
Dangal too has some tale to tell! The Aamir Khan-starrer earned approximately over Rs 725 crore in China in the last 17 days. In its earlier stint in India, the film earned Rs 374 crore. However, in China, where the film is released with the title Shaui Jiao Baba (Let’s Wrestle, Dad) across 9,000 screens, the earnings have been an unimaginable Rs 87.66 crore on opening day.
Bahubali 2 was released in four languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam – worldwide on June 28. With a steady run worldwide, Bahubali 2 will be expected to create a new record to enter the Rs 1,600 crore club.
